This is a genuine 5-inch Cylindroteuthis puzosiana belemnite fossil from the Oxfordian stage of the Jurassic period, discovered in Bedfordshire, United Kingdom. Belemnites were extinct marine cephalopods closely related to modern squid and cuttlefish. Unlike ammonites, they possessed an internal shell known as the guard, which fossilised over millions of years and is commonly found in Jurassic marine deposits.

This well-preserved specimen features its characteristic elongated, bullet-shaped guard with clear surface details. Belemnites played a significant role in prehistoric marine ecosystems and are highly sought after by collectors, researchers, and fossil enthusiasts.
