Alister and Alison, the owners of UK Fossils, have been passionate fossil collectors all their lives.
Alister began following in his father’s footsteps as a toddler, picking up his very first fossils on the beaches of Suffolk. Over the years, they have donated a large number of important specimens to museums across the UK, driven by their core belief that scientifically significant fossils should remain accessible to everyone.
UK Fossils was officially founded by Alister in 1998, though its roots go back to 1988, when it began as a social gathering of like‑minded enthusiasts exploring fossil sites around the country.
Alison is the team’s “in‑house” fossil preparator, working not only on their own finds but also on specimens from around the world. When time permits, she even prepares occasional fossils sent in by customers.
