Description
An exceptional and rare specimen of Liparoceras daedalicosta—a Lower Jurassic ammonite fossil collected from the iconic Green Ammonite Beds of Stonebarrow Cliff, Charmouth, part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site near Lyme Regis, Dorset, UK. This ammonite was discovered on 26 April 2025 by our expert fossil team members Alister and Alison, and meticulously cleaned, prepped, and treated by Alison.
Liparoceras daedalicosta is a distinctive species known for its broad, thick whorls and strong, coarse ribbing that bifurcates low on the flanks. This species is highly sought after due to its rarity and impressive preservation in the fossil record.

Depositional Environment: This ammonite was preserved in the low-energy, offshore marine muds of the Early Jurassic seafloor. These laminated clay-rich beds provided the perfect conditions for the preservation of hard-bodied marine life, particularly ammonites.
