This impressive 8″ Brasilia (Lioceras) bradfordensis fossil ammonite is a rare and striking Middle Jurassic specimen from the world-renowned Jurassic Coast. It was discovered on 30 April 2025 by our field collectors Alister and Alison at Burton Bradstock, Dorset, UK, and has been professionally cleaned, prepped, and treated by Alison to enhance its preservation and detail.

This fossil was found in the Inferior Oolite Formation, a Middle Jurassic limestone well-known for producing beautifully preserved ammonite specimens. The listing photo shows the exact fossil you will receive. The scale cube is 1cm for reference.

  • Species: Brasilia (Lioceras) bradfordensis (originally described by S.S. Buckman, 1923)
  • Family: Graphoceratidae
  • Superfamily: Hildoceratoidea
  • Order: Ammonitida
  • Geological Stage: Bajocian (Middle Jurassic)
  • Formation: Inferior Oolite
  • Zone: Humphriesianum Zone (commonly associated)
  • Biozone: Subzone of Parkinsonia or Stephanoceras zones (regionally correlated)
