For sale is a beautiful specimen of Amaltheus gloriosus, a fossil ammonite from the Upper Pliensbachian stage of the Early Jurassic, discovered in Aveyron, France. This region is well-known for its marine fossil beds that capture a rich diversity of ammonite fauna from the Pliensbachian.

Amaltheus gloriosus is a member of the family Amaltheidae and is recognised by its compressed, involute shell, often with a distinctively smooth surface and gently curving whorls. The venter is typically keeled, with fine, subtle striations running along the shell. These features make it a highly desirable fossil among collectors and researchers.
