Description
This listing features a beautifully preserved Amaltheus laevigatus fossil ammonite, collected from the Pliensbachian stage of the Early Jurassic, sourced from Marlostein, Germany. This region is well-known for its well-preserved ammonite fauna and classic marine sedimentary successions.
Amaltheus laevigatus is a representative species of the family Amaltheidae and is characterised by a relatively smooth, discoidal shell with weak ribbing and a slightly involute coiling. Its broad, flat whorls and gently rounded venter give it a distinctively elegant appearance, making it both scientifically and visually appealing.
