This exceptional specimen originates from Tulear, Madagascar, a globally renowned locality for ammonite preservation and diversity.
Amoebopeltoceras is an extinct genus of ammonite within the family Perisphinctidae, characterised by its evolute shell structure and fine ribbing patterns. These marine molluscs were free-swimming predators that inhabited the warm, shallow seas of the Mesozoic era, evolving to fill numerous ecological niches in Jurassic oceans.
