Genuine Chondroceras gervillii ammonite from the Lower Bathonian of Switzerland. The exact fossil shown is the carefully chosen specimen supplied. Ammonites were marine cephalopods with chambered shells, related to modern squid, cuttlefish and nautiluses. This Middle Jurassic fossil provides a direct link to ancient seas and the rich marine ecosystems of the Bathonian. Its naturally coiled form, mineral texture and scientific provenance make it a rewarding piece for a fossil cabinet, geological display or natural-history collection.
