Description
A well-preserved fossil ammonite of the species Euasteroceras turneri, found in the iconic Jurassic cliffs of Charmouth, Dorset, UK. This specimen dates to the Sinemurian stage of the Early Jurassic period and exhibits the elegant, evolute coiling and ribbed ornamentation that characterises this genus.
Euasteroceras turneri is part of the family Eoderoceratidae, within the superfamily Eoderoceratoidea and order Ammonitida. This genus is typically found in marine strata and is considered a significant marker fossil for the Sinemurian.
