Description
A striking and well-preserved specimen of Garantiana fossil ammonite from the iconic Inferior Oolite Formation of the Jurassic Coast, collected at Burton Bradstock, Dorset, UK. This ammonite represents a beautiful relic of the Middle Jurassic marine world.

Garantiana ammonites are renowned for their coarse ribbing and broad shells. These ammonites were fast-moving, nektonic predators or scavengers in the Jurassic seas. Their well-developed ornamentation and shell structure make them a prized fossil among collectors and an important index fossil for stratigraphy.
This specimen was discovered on 30 April 2025 by our experienced field collectors, Alister and Alison, and was later carefully cleaned, prepped, and treated by Alison to enhance visibility of its detailed morphological features.
