Pleurotomaria is an extinct genus of marine gastropods, known for their coiled, ornamented shells with distinctive growth lines and spiraling ridges, making them highly desirable collector’s fossils.
During the Jurassic, these gastropods thrived in warm, shallow marine environments, where they were part of a diverse ecosystem alongside ammonites, bivalves, and marine reptiles.
