Lower Bajocian Geology
The Bajocian Stage forms part of the Middle Jurassic and began approximately 170 million years ago. Southern Britain was then influenced by warm, shallow seas in which carbonate mud, sand, shell debris and iron-rich grains accumulated. Hyperlioceras is an extinct genus of ammonoid cephalopod.
