This elegant marine fossil has been carefully cleaned, prepped, and treated by Alison, revealing its graceful spiral and natural shell features.
Lytoceras is a genus of ammonites that lived during the Jurassic period, recognised by its smooth, involute whorls and flowing shell pattern. These cephalopods belonged to the Lytoceratidae family and thrived in open marine environments. Their fossils are typically found in limestone deposits like the Beacon Limestone Formation, which is renowned for its rich marine fossil assemblages.
