Description
Presenting a well-preserved and authentic NEOHARPOCERAS sp. fossil ammonite, an exceptional marine fossil from the Albian Stage of the Early Cretaceous Period (approximately 113 to 100 million years ago). This rare specimen comes from the rich fossil beds of Menabe, Madagascar.
Geology & Origin:
The Menabe region of Madagascar, during the Albian period, was submerged beneath shallow, nutrient-rich seas that supported a wide array of marine organisms. Ammonites like Neoharpoceras thrived in this environment. After their death, they were rapidly buried under sediment, which over millions of years preserved their shells in exquisite detail. These layers are now some of Madagascar’s most important fossil sites.
