ACTUAL AS SEENThe image shows the EXACT specimen you will receive. The specimen has been carefully hand selected and photographed. Measurements are as accurate as possible, though be aware measuring precise dimensions can be difficult from irregular shaped items. Whilst we portray colours as close to life-like as we can, colours will vary if taken in sunlight, indoors, from monitor to monitor and device to device. Once this specimen is sold, we will update this listing with new similar selected item, with a new photo and dimensions so this listing will change after you purchase. The scale cube in the photo is 1cm to give a visual size.

Pre-Cambrian Information

The Precambrian refers to the vast stretch of time before the Cambrian Period, covering Earth’s formation (~4.6 billion years ago) to 541 million years ago. It is divided into three eons: the Hadean, Archean, and Proterozoic. During this time, Earth formed, oceans developed, and the first simple life appeared. In the Archean, single-celled organisms like bacteria and archaea thrived, while in the Proterozoic, photosynthetic cyanobacteria began producing oxygen, leading to the Great Oxygenation Event. The first eukaryotic cells (complex cells with nuclei) evolved, followed by multicellular life and soft-bodied organisms like Ediacaran fauna. The Precambrian ended with the Cambrian Explosion, a burst of life that led to the first complex animals.
