This remarkable Oppelia fallax ammonite fossil originates from the Inferior Oolite formation of the Middle Jurassic (~174-170 million years ago) and was discovered along the Jurassic Coast in Burton Bradstock, Dorset, UK. Oppelia is a genus of ammonites known for its elegant, finely ribbed shell and compressed whorl structure, making it a fascinating specimen for fossil enthusiasts and collectors.
This particular specimen was discovered by our own team members, Alister and Alison, on 17 January 2025 and has been carefully cleaned, prepped, and treated by Alison to ensure its scientific integrity and aesthetic appeal.
