Osterlioceras sp. is an extinct ammonite belonging to the ammonoid cephalopods, a group of marine molluscs related to modern squid, cuttlefish and nautilus. The living animal occupied the outer body chamber, while the internal chambers helped regulate buoyancy as it moved through the water column.
