This exceptional specimen was collected from the well-documented marine fossil beds of Zalas, Poland, a notable location for Middle Jurassic invertebrate fossils.
Geology & Origin:
During the Callovian, the Zalas region in southern Poland was covered by a shallow sea, rich in marine biodiversity. Ammonites like Pavlovia pallasioide were part of this dynamic ecosystem. Upon death, their shells were rapidly buried under fine sediments, preserving intricate details and spiral structures that are still visible today.
