Description
Presenting an exquisite PSEUDOSONNERAITA iridescent fossil ammonite, featuring a brilliant natural Mother of Pearl shell preservation. This rare fossil hails from the Lower Albian Stage of the Early Cretaceous Period (approximately 113 to 110 million years ago), uncovered from the fossil-rich marine deposits of Madagascar.
Geology & Origin:
During the Lower Albian, Madagascar was submerged beneath warm, shallow seas that created the ideal conditions for ammonites to thrive and fossilize. Over millions of years, sedimentation and mineral replacement processes captured the fine details of their shells. In rare cases like this specimen, the original aragonite layers remained, displaying an enchanting iridescent “Mother of Pearl” effect that shifts with light.
