This is a RARE 3.75″ Cleoniceras cleon Fossil Ammonite, an elegantly preserved and highly aesthetic example from the Albian Stage of the Lower Cretaceous, discovered in Madagascar.
Cleoniceras cleon is a species of fast-swimming, nektonic ammonite with a typically discoidal shell and beautifully preserved suture lines. This specimen displays stunning natural detail and exhibits the classic ribbing and symmetry for which the genus is renowned.
