Description
A RARE and scientifically notable fossil heteromorph ammonite specimen of Acrioceras tabarelli, collected from the Lower Barremian Stage of the Early Cretaceous, from the renowned site at Logis du Pin, France. This fossil is part of the distinguished Alice Purnell Collection, a well-regarded selection known for its palaeontological importance and excellent preservation.
Acrioceras tabarelli is a heteromorph ammonite species within the family Ancyloceratidae, characterised by their loosely coiled, open-planispiral or hook-shaped shells. Members of this genus are critical to understanding ammonite evolution and palaeobiogeography during the Early Cretaceous.
