Bradfordia inclusa is a sought-after ammonite species from the Bajocian stage of the Middle Jurassic period, approximately 170 million years old. The Inferior Oolite formation, from which this exceptional specimen originates, is renowned for yielding diverse and beautifully preserved fossils, making it one of the most famous geological locations on the world-renowned Jurassic Coast of Dorset.

Bradfordia inclusa is noted for its distinctively ribbed and tightly coiled shell, making it a visually appealing and scientifically significant specimen. Ammonites, like Bradfordia inclusa, were marine mollusks closely related to modern-day squids and octopuses. They lived in ancient oceans and became extinct approximately 66 million years ago, leaving their beautifully preserved shells to provide vital insights into ancient marine ecosystems and Jurassic biodiversity.

This exceptional fossil ammonite was discovered by our dedicated fossil-hunting team members, Alister and Alison, on 17 January 2025. It has been expertly cleaned, prepped, and preserved by Alison, highlighting its fine detail and natural beauty.
