This is a rare PACHYTEUTHIS ABBREVIATA fossil belemnite from the Oxfordian stage of the Late Jurassic period, discovered in S. Marston, United Kingdom. Belemnites were extinct marine cephalopods related to modern squid and cuttlefish. Unlike ammonites, they had an internal shell known as a guard, which fossilised over millions of years, leaving behind the well-preserved bullet-shaped remains commonly found in Jurassic marine deposits.
