With an age of approximately 164–166 million years, this striking marine fossil is an exceptional example of a large spiral-shelled gastropod that once inhabited warm, shallow seas during the Jurassic.

The genus Bathrotomaria is known for its turreted, high-spired shell with deeply incised sutures and robust whorls. These features are clearly visible in this specimen, showcasing the typical architecture that adapted this mollusc to life in a soft marine substrate.
