Grammoceras is a genus within the Hildoceratidae family, notable for its planispiral shell and dense ribbing pattern. G. penestriatulum is particularly known for its fine, regular ribs and compressed whorl section, which make it a key taxon for identifying stratigraphic zones in Toarcian sequences.
