Dating back to the Early Jurassic (~200-180 million years ago), this remarkable specimen belonged to one of the ocean’s most iconic marine reptiles.

Plesiosaurs were large, long-necked marine reptiles that thrived in prehistoric seas. They were powerful swimmers, using their paddle-like flippers to propel themselves through the water in a unique flying motion. With small heads, long necks, and streamlined bodies, they were well-adapted for hunting fish and squid in the Jurassic oceans.
