Description
An uncommon and beautifully preserved fossil ammonite of the genus Pseudolioceras, originating from the Upper Toarcian Stage of the Early Jurassic, discovered in Belmont, Rhône, France. This specimen is part of the esteemed Alice Purnell Collection, known for its scientifically curated and historically significant fossils.
Pseudolioceras is a genus of evolute, finely ribbed ammonites within the family Dactylioceratidae. These ammonites are characterised by their moderately flattened whorls, distinct ribbing, and relatively broad umbilicus, making them highly recognisable and stratigraphically useful in Jurassic palaeontology.
