This genuine vertebra belonged to a prehistoric shark that once ruled the warm tropical seas of the Tethys Ocean, which covered parts of North Africa during the Eocene Epoch.

Unlike teeth, which are commonly found due to sharks shedding them regularly, vertebrae are much rarer and offer a fascinating insight into the anatomy of these incredible marine predators.
