Tragophylloceras is a genus of extinct ammonites known for its compressed, smooth shell and fine coiling. These cephalopods were active swimmers in the early Jurassic seas over 190 million years ago, related to modern squid and octopuses. Their streamlined shells helped them manoeuvre through marine waters as they hunted smaller prey.
